Last night, the internet and tech A-list celebrated the best of the best at the 17th Annual Webby Awards held at Cipriani on Wall Street. Turner and HBO won several Webby and People's Voice awards for internet excellence, including Best Celebrity/Fan Website for Team Coco Digital and Best Media Streaming Service (Mobile App) for HBO GO.
Other Time Warner wins included: Best Religion & Spitiuality Website for CNN's Belief Blog; Best Practices (Mobile App) for HBO GO; Best Celebrity/Fan Social Content and Marketing for HBO Connect; Best News for Handheld Devices for CNN Mobile Web; Best Sports Mobile App for NBA Digital's NBA Game Time for iPad; and Best Consumer Electronics & Services (Interactive Advertising Media) for HBO GO's Integrated Campaign. LEGO Super Heroes Movie Maker from Warner Bros. Consumer Products won Best Entertainment for Handheld Device.
The night was full of hilarious quips and memorable five-word acceptance speeches: "The Oscars should do this," said Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti; "Curiosity kills ignorance. Encourage science," from the Mars Curiosity Rover team; and "Why five words? It doesn't…," from none other than Jerry Seinfeld.
In case you missed the live stream, all of last night's acceptance speeches are available on YouTube now, including this one from HBO Connect:
