On June 16, not only will Truebies have the season premiere of True Blood to devour, but HBO will host its first-ever live broadcast (from the Fangtasia set) with a slew of cast members. The two-part social media event begins at 9 a.m. ET on June 16, with the reveal of exclusive #secretsfromtheset via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Vine. Then, right before the season 6 premiere, #TrueBlood: Live from the Set will air on HBO (8:45 p.m. ET). This social TV pre-show will give fans the opportunity to engage with their favorite True Blood cast members and possibly even be featured in the broadcast. All the vamps, werewolves and Bon Temps residents Truebies have come to love (or hate) over the past five seasons will be making appearances (have we mentioned this is a LIVE event?), including Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell, Nelsan Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie Preston, Todd Lowe, Chris Bauer, Kristin Bauer van Straten and Joe Manganiello.
“Social media has been core to the marketing strategy for True Blood since the first season, leading to one of the most engaged fan bases of any television series,” said Pamela Levine, executive vice president, HBO Marketing, in a press release. “#TrueBlood: Live From the Set will reward our devotees by allowing them to both participate in and affect the live broadcast through a unique intersection of linear television and digital media.”
