As Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara noted during his remarks at CinemaCon, “The connection to a movie is so much stronger when you see it in a theater.” CinemaCon attendees were also treated to a glimpse of trailers from Warner Bros.’ star-studded spring lineup, including Transcendence (hitting theaters April 18) with introductions from the films’ stars: Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman and director Wally Pfister.
Other presentations included Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s comedy collaboration Blended (May 23) and director Clint Eastwood’s discussion on his adaptation of the Broadway musical Jersey Boys (June 20). Melissa McCarthy and her husband, director Ben Falcone, also introduced their comedy Tammy (July 2) and Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis talked about their upcoming roles in the original sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending (July 18).
In addition to spring and summer releases, Warner Bros.’ Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, president of international distribution, walked the audience through the studio’s slate for the rest of 2014, wrapping with a sneak peak of the final film in the Hobbit trilogy, which debuts in December.
