Summer is for San Diego, but fall belongs to New York City as far as comics are concerned. New York Comic Con 2015 kicks off tomorrow at the Javits Center and Warner Bros., Turner and HBO are ready to represent, NYC style. Be sure to check out what’s going on at this year’s Comic Con with these must see panels, events and promotions.
TNT and TBS are brining star power to the Javits Center with panels featuring some of this year’s most anticipated shows. The lineup includes discussions with Rashida Jones on her upcoming TBS show Angie Tribeca. Sean Bean will discuss the return of the popular TNT spy thriller Legends. Jason Jones will be joined by Samantha Bee to talk laughs and their new TBS show The Detour. Lastly Rebecca Romijn and the cast of the TNT fantasy adventure series The Librarians will discuss the upcoming season. Additionally, Jeff Hephner will give a sneak peek at the upcoming TNT action adventure series Agent X.
Cartoon Network has two epic panels slated for NYCC this year, the first being the Adventure Time panel. This panel will be moderated by Uncle Grandpa’s Eric Bauza, aka Belly Bag. During this panel fans will get a first look at the special eight-part series Stakes, which will air on Cartoon Network later this fall. Regular Show fans are also in luck, because they can join the series creator JG Quintel and the cast and crew, who will show scenes from and discuss Regular Show: The Movie, airing on Cartoon Network in November. Sean Szeles will also join the panel to discuss his newest project, Long Live the Royals. Lastly, Cartoon Network wants to make sure fans are having fun with a special costume contest and an exclusive first-look at some of Cartoon Network’s most popular shows, being held on Saturday, October 10.
Adult Swim will make a splash with a list of fun panels and awesome events, too. This year Adult Swim will host panels for the hit series The Venture Bros. and Robot Chicken. At the Robot Chicken panel the creators and producers of the series will not only discuss the return of the eigth season of the show, but the upcoming Robot Chicken DC Comics Special III: Magical Friendship collaborative special, which will air on the network October 18. Adult Swim will also introduce the new mini-series Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter. This panel will include stars Jon Glaser, Scott Adsit, Stephanie March, Steve Little and Steve Cirbus.
Adult Swim is also partnering with KFC to host an exclusive fan event at the famous Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday, October 8. The event will celebrate the launch of Robot Chicken Season 8 and premiere of Robot Chicken DC Comics Special III: Magical Friendship by debuting the third and final custom video in "The Colonel’s Chronicles." Series co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will be in the house to greet fans, who will be able to enjoy some free bowling, drinks, food. Fans will even get a free t-shirt while supplies last. And that’s not all! Adult Swim is also hosting a nighttime fan party on the Hudson River, Saturday, October 10, featuring a special (and secret) musical guest. HBO & CINEMAX
Game of Thrones fans, while you still have to wait for season 6 to find out what has happened to your favorite characters, you can stock up on Westeros gear with special Game of Thrones products from HBO Global Licensing. Be sure to check out a number of booths featuring Game of Thrones products including an Iron Throne Pop!, McFarlane Toys Game of Thrones Construction Sets, plush dire wolves and more.
Cinemax will make its NY Comic Con debut this year with panels for its original series Banshee and its upcoming series Outcast. The Banshee panel will feature executive producer and co-creator Jonathan Tropper as well as cast members Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Eliza Dushku, Frankie Faison and Matt Servitto where they will discuss the upcoming fourth and final season of the series. Outcast, based on the Skybound/Image comic series by Robert Kirkman, will air on Cinemax in 2016. During this highly anticipated panel Robert Kirkman will chat with Chris Lack and lead actor Patrick Fugit about the upcoming series.
WARNER BROS. & DC COMICS
Last but definitely not least the DC Comics’ Super Heroes along with Warner Bros.’ Television will touch down at NYCC with a flurry of must-see events and panels. DC Comics celebrates Girl Power at this year’s Comic Con with DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattell teaming up to introduce the new DC Super Hero Girls Universe. DC Super Hero Girls will have a special booth where fans can get an up-close look at the action doll line and a sneak peek at the additional products to come in the new line. DC will also host a panel on Thursday, October 8, where the creative women behind the scenes will share their vision of the universe. Comic Con attendees will also get a chance to participate in unique giveaways and photo opps.
Warner Bros. Television will also leave its mark on the annual convention with a number of panels and screenings for some of TV’s greatest and upcoming shows including Gotham, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot, Supergirl, Person of Interest, Containment and Looney Tunes Production’s Wabbit.
