"What's your special ingredient?"
That's the question from Cartoon Network this week with the launch of Powfactor, a new global campaign aimed at empowering young girls featuring both The Powerpuff Girls and Amy Poehler's Smart Girls initiative. The above music video is currently airing on all Cartoon Network platforms to call out how each individual young girl can have a distinctive impact on the world around them.
“Just like Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, kids have a special ingredient which makes them heroes,” said Jill King, Cartoon Network’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Partnerships in a statement. “Partnering with Smart Girls to launch this campaign is a perfect fit for the message of positivity, individuality and confidence Powfactor embodies.”
That individuality is what led Cartoon Network to partner with Smart Girls, an initiative co-founded by Amy Poehler dedicated to "providing a healthy alternative to so much that is being marketed to young people on the internet." Together, Cartoon Network and Smart Girls have produced an original docu-series aimed at empowering young girls "to create, teach and inspire those around them." The series will premiere new episodes each Monday through October 3.
