Turner Network Sales Expands Affiliate Sales Management Team

Andrew T. Heller Named to Newly Created Position of Executive Vice President, TNS Gaffney, Orr Elevated Alongside Maguire to Comprise New Management Team

William H. Grumbles, Jr., president of worldwide distribution for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.), today announced the expansion of the senior management team within Turner Network Sales (TNS), the cable sales arm of TBS, Inc. As outlined by Grumbles, who oversees TNS, Turner Home Satellite (THS) and CNN Newsource Sales, the management expansion, which is effective immediately, positions TNS for continued success in selling the diverse and growing portfolio of Turner networks and further maximizing relationships with cable affiliates.

Joining TNS in the newly created position of executive vice president is industry veteran Andrew T. Heller. In addition to working closely with regional sales executives to formulate and execute division sales strategies, Heller's new duties include overseeing business affairs, operations and technology.

Grumbles also announced that Kevin Gaffney, formerly vice president, Northeast Region, and Doug Orr, formerly vice president, Central Region, have assumed new responsibilities and will join Carter Maguire as the new TNS affiliate sales management team. In the expansion, Maguire becomes executive vice president of the Central Division, which includes Canada; Gaffney assumes the title of senior vice president, Eastern Division; and Orr becomes senior vice president, Western Division. Maguire, Gaffney and Orr will work in partnership to direct the day-to-day sales activity of their respective divisions. Additionally, Maguire will continue to spearhead industry-related matters for Grumbles and direct cross-functional activities for TNS. Heller, Maguire, Gaffney and Orr are based in Atlanta and report to Grumbles.

Heller joins the TNS team with more than 13 years of experience in the cable industry. He was most recently with Time Warner Cable, where as assistant general counsel he was actively involved in acquisitions, trades, financings and a variety of cable, contractual, litigation and regulatory issues for the leading MSO. Earlier, Heller served as associate counsel and senior counsel, litigation for HBO.
