To do this, Turner created the Social Media War Room, a high-tech workspace that serves as a hub for employees to share news and information with millions of people across the globe. TurnerNow sat down with members of the War Room to talk about what’s in it, how they function as a team and the energy inside the space.
"I Wanted to Make a Difference": One Turner Employee’s Quest for Equality
On February 20, 1960, police officers placed Johnita Due’s mother in handcuffs as bystanders heckled her with racial slurs. The officers arrested the then 20-year-old Florida A&M University student for disorderly conduct after she and sixteen other protesters led a sit-in at Woolworth’s store in Tallahassee, Florida. Their goal was to end the store’s policy of serving only white customers at its lunch counter.
Patricia Stephens Due was presented with two options: pay the $300 fine or spend weeks in jail. She chose to stay in jail.

Time Warner Foundation Announces New Film GranteesThe Time Warner Foundation recently announced its newest film grantees. For this funding round, the Foundation selected seven organizations committed to developing and showcasing outstanding filmmakers.
