Warner Bros. Television Group Takes Big Bang Fan Out of This World

Among its lesser-known positive effects, researchers can now prove that watching TV can rocket you into space. At least that's what is happening to one lucky fan of The Big Bang Theory, produced by Warner Bros. Television (WBTV). Mercedes Becerra of Pasa Robles, California, literally had that dream come true thanks to a creative partnership between Warner Bros. Television Group and XCOR Aerospace.

WBTV took time during their presentations at Comic-Con: International in San Diego last month to give one Big Bang fan the chance to travel aboard XCOR's Lynx Reusable Launch Vehicle. The inspiration for the special space voyage came from the hit series' season five finale, in which Caltech engineer Howard Wolowitz (series star Simon Helberg) was launched into space aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule.

The special ticket was awarded to Becerra at an event at Comic-Con, and the sub-orbital ride is expected to take place as soon as 2014.
