Yesterday I moderated a packed panel featuring the cast and producer of Arrow at New York Comic Con. It was a surreal experience that capped off an amazing week highlighted by the show’s record-breaking premiere on The CW last Wednesday.

I'm thrilled to report that the reception from fans at New York Comic Con was electric. They packed a large hall and patiently waited in line to ask questions ranging from what other characters from the DC Comics universe they can expect to see in upcoming episodes (and there will be many!) to how lead actor, Stephen Amell, performs such harrowing action scenes (and there will be many!).

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim described the task of telling the story with a realistic, grounded tone since this Oliver Queen doesn't have super powers, yet he's still on a lethal mission for justice. Once a privileged, party-boy, Oliver Queen was stranded on an island for five years and returned a different person, out to help rid the city of the corruption his family is responsible for. Guggenheim explained how the show's flashbacks to the shipwrecked island where Oliver spent five years play a pivotal role in telling the story of who Oliver is today.

One of the highlights of the panel was the brand new trailer for the upcoming season that gave everyone in the audience a taste of the action packed episodes that are still to come. After the trailer was viewed, one fan declared "that looked like a movie trailer – I'm so excited to watch this season."

It's hard to believe that just about a year ago we began developing Arrow with Warner Bros. Television and The CW. Through the entire process that began with shooting the pilot last winter, we were eagerly awaiting fans' response to the new show. I was particularly excited to hear from comic book fans – and at yesterday's panel we got an earful – and it's clear they love the pilot and are eager for more!
