TCM Screens Forbidden Planet Way Out There

Turner Classic Movies partnered with NASA for the launch of its 2012-13 Road to Hollywood tour at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex with a screening last weekend of the 1950s sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet.

The film was shown not only to Kennedy Space Center visitors (photo above), but also to astronauts onboard the International Space Station, making for an experience that was quite literally out of this world. Robby the Robot would have been proud.

Attendees were also treated to a special surprise introduction from U.S. Navy Captain and International Space Station Commander Suni Williams from the ongoing Expedition 33. See it here:
