Turner Grows Kid-Friendly Brands in APAC
What do Ben 10 LIVE: Time Machine and Toonami have in common? Both involve awesome cartoons and superheroes, and both Turner Broadcasting entertainment brands have recently expanded to the Asia Pacific region.
This week, Turner’s Cartoon Network is presenting Ben 10 LIVE: Time Machine, a live theatrical version of three Ben 10 shows – Ben 10, Ben 10 Alien Force and Ben 10 Ultimate Alien – in its first-ever Indian appearance at New Delhi’s Sirifort Auditorium. Produced by Life Like Touring, and featuring stunning digital effects, acrobatics and actors in costumes as tall as 12 feet, the show runs through February 3.
The stage show follows the journey of Ben Tennyson, a boy superhero with a watch-like device that enables him to transform into an alien. Kids travel with Ben, his cousins and alien superheroes on his adventures through time and space.

While Ben 10 makes its mark in India’s capital, several Asian markets welcomed the launch of Toonami, Turner’s interactive animated TV channel, last month. The network currently broadcasts such popular series as Dragon Ball Z, Green Lantern and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The channel is initially available in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
Toonami also features content created by viewers, for viewers. Audiences can share their story ideas with the network and participate in creative competitions to see their ideas come to life. For example, the channel announced an ultimate writing contest this month for fan boys and fan girls to imagine their own ending to a story about superheroes. The winning story will be seen on TV and produced as a special comic book.

Both Ben 10 LIVE: Time Machine and Toonami are just some examples of how Turner Broadcasting is engaging with kids around this region. Turner Asia Pacific’s portfolio for younger audiences, which includes Cartoon Network, POGO and Boomerang, continues to grow with the recent debut of Cartoonito, a network developed for pre-school age children.
