Battling for Middle-earth – on Facebook

28 Mar 2013 - By TW Staff

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) and Kabam have made their latest game, The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age, available on another incredibly popular platform: Facebook. This free-to-play tactical combat game comes after the recent success of The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, a similar free-to-play game designed for mobile devices.

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth has been an international hit. It was the no. 10 grossing game on iOS worldwide and in the top 15 grossing games internationally on Google Play during January 2013 (according to App Annie Index).

The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age from Kabam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a great example of the type of high quality games being built on Facebook,” says Facebook’s Director of Games and Partnerships, Sean Ryan.

In The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age, players battle beside characters from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey including Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and Radagast. Players lead armies of Elves, Dwarves and Orcs into combat and can band together with other players to create powerful alliances and wage war. In other words: Like!
