Hardcore Pawn Turns 100

With its 100th episode scheduled to air next week, truTV’s Hardcore Pawn continues to draw record ratings. According to a Variety article, since its debut, the show regularly attracts more than 3 million viewers, often beating some broadcast network competitors.
In fact, 1.6 million adult viewers tuned in for Hardcore Pawn’s season seven premiere – up 36% compared to the previous season opener – bringing truTV its largest audience ever in the coveted 18-49 age group. That episode became the No. 1 unscripted program in its timeslot for adults and men 18-49, as well as total viewers, across all basic cable networks.
The continued success of Hardcore Pawn, which takes viewers behind the scenes of Detroit’s family-owned American Jewelry & Loan, has led to spinoff shows Hardcore Pawn: Chicago and Combat Pawn. Building on the network’s momentum last year, truTV is also off to a good start for 2013 and recently reported its youngest first quarter ever in primetime median age, besting non-fiction competitor channels, such as Discovery, History, Spike and TLC.
