Last night, fans lined the street outside London's iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane for the world premiere of Warner Bros. Theater Ventures' new musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on the beloved book by Roald Dahl.
Guests included Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, Matthew Morrison, Jane Krakowski, Anna Friel, Bille Piper, Lily Allen, Luke Treadaway and Jessica Raine. Also in attendance were Dahl’s daughters Lucy and Ophelia, and his widow Felicity.
Producers also announced that Charlie, directed by Sam Mendes and featuring Broadway and London veteran Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka, has extended its run through May 13, 2014, with an extra half-million tickets going on sale this morning.
