Superman + Batman = !!!!!!!
Surprise announcements, unexpected appearances, and exclusive previews are the norm (if there is such a thing) at Comic-Con International, held annually in San Diego. And this year was no different.
At the close of the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures panel, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder confirmed a Superman sequel and teased a potential storyline. The sequel, slated for a summer 2015 release, will bring arguably the two biggest Super Heroes - Superman and Batman - together on the big screen for the first time.
"I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world," said Snyder during the Comic-Con announcement.
While the new Batman has yet to be named, Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will reprise their roles. The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan will serve as executive producer, along with Emma Thomas, Benjamin Melniker, and Michael E. Uslan.
