Did you know that in New York City 1.4 million residents rely on soup kitchens and food pantries? A 2013 study found that 20% of residents in the state of Georgia don’t always know where they’ll find their next meal.

To combat hunger in our communities, CNN’s Impact Your World, Time Warner Impact and Turner Broadcasting held a food drive in the company's New York and Atlanta offices to benefit the Food Bank for New York City and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Employees generously donated essential items, including canned goods, boxed foods, and everyday household products. After three weeks, the total amount of donations from both offices reached 3,800 pounds of food; enough to feed more than 3,000 people in need!

With the Atlanta Community Food Bank providing emergency food to nearly 60,000 people each week, and Food Bank for New York City supporting over 400,000 New Yorkers every day, the donations from the Make an Impact Food Drive are a meaningful contribution to the incredible efforts of these two institutions. The proceeds from the food drive arrive at a crucial time - with the holidays approaching, local food banks will be working hard to ensure those in need have a warm meal and enough food to put on the table. Find out how you can support your local food bank by visiting Feed America.
