Students Slam Dunk Success with Looney Tunes and the NBA

Earlier this month, London was home to the first Looney Tunes Active! and Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA co-branded basketball clinic, hosted by Warner Bros. Consumer Products EMEA in partnership with the National Basketball Association.
The event, held at The O2 Arena in London, featured iconic Looney Tunes characters (Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck), NBA legends (John Amaechi and Steve Smith) and team mascots (Atlanta Hawks mascot Harry the Hawk and Brooklyn Nets mascot Brooklyn Knight), who teamed up to help more than 50 elementary students understand the rules of basketball through hands-on coaching. During the clinic, students learned about the basketball fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork, as well as the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
"We’re delighted to announce the details of the first Looney Tunes Active! and Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA co-branded basketball clinic. It’s the initial step in a joint venture that will see us combining the power of our iconic sport and entertainment brands to directly connect with new audiences to promote the importance of living an active lifestyle," said Pilar Zulueta, Executive Vice President and General Manager of WBCP EMEA, in the announcement. "Our mission statement has always been to teach and not to preach. This fun and interactive initiative allows us to do just that using the active by nature character personality traits of the Looney Tunes characters."
Following the clinic, students were treated to a nutritious breakfast reception where they received goody bags of Looney Tunes/ NBA co-branded basketball merchandise. See photos from the event below.
