There are only 18 days left before the season four premiere of Game of Thrones, and Westeros' glitterati descended on New York City last night for a fittingly epic premiere extravaganza.
And the night offered more than one reason to celebrate. Not only did HBO's smash hit take over New York's Lincoln Center for a star-studded premiere, but across the great eastern sea, the show took the Royal Television Society's international program award.
The evening kicked off with members of the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Ramin Djawadi, who composes the show’s unforgettable music. The musicians played the Game of Thrones theme as well as music from last season’s infamous "Red Wedding" episode. After screening the first episode, the party continued at the Museum of Natural History where members of the largest cast in television celebrated. Attendees were invited to have their photos taken on the Iron Throne, climb The Wall in a harrowing 4D virtual reality booth, and, of course, imbibe in Game of Thrones beer.
See photos from the premiere below, and be sure to tune in for the premiere April 6, only on HBO.
