HBO, Turner, SI Win Sports Emmy Awards

The 35th Annual Sports Emmy Awards were held last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City. HBO and Turner each took home five awards with Time Inc. adding one statue to the mix. In addition to the awards handed out to an array of sports personalities and programming, Ted Turner, CNN founder and "Superstation" pioneer, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

"Turner has long since been hailed as a visionary for changing the landscape of sports televisions," wrote Ed Sherman in the Sports Emmy Awards program.
