Cowboy Builders Gets a Spanish Twist
The hit U.K. reality series Cowboy Builders is headed to Spain. Atresmedia Group in Spain commissioned a local production of the long-running show, which marks the fifth local adaption of Cowboy Builders (following commissions in the United States, Belgium, France and Sweden).
The show follows Dominic Littlewood and Melinda Messenger as they ride to the rescue of homeowners all over the country who have had their homes wrecked by corrupt building contractors. While one repairs the damage left behind with a dramatic home makeover, the other tracks down the rogue builder to confront them and stop them causing chaos elsewhere.
"Cowboy Builders has been a hit show for Channel 5 since its launch five years ago and in that time it has also travelled well internationally," said Andrew Zein, Senior Vice President, Creative, Format Development and Sales, Warner Bros. International Television Production, in a press release. "Viewers enjoy seeing the bad guys being brought to justice alongside a glamorous home makeover. We are excited about seeing the most recent, Spanish version of the show."
"This program is a format that fits very well in Atresmedia’s entertainment catalogue," added Carmen Ferreiro, Atresmedia Television Entertainment Programs Director comments. "It presents a perfect combination of helping people solve their problems whilst at the same time fighting back against corrupt behavior."
