On Monday nearly 200 employees attended a candid conversation with the hosts of Telepictures’ upcoming talk show The Real moderated by Lisa Garcia Quiroz, Time Warner’s Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer.

Garcia Quiroz interviewed the five hosts – Tamar Braxton, Tamara Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon – about their expectations for the show and the importance of diversity in entertainment before opening the event up to questions from the audience.

The dynamic hosts spoke freely about each other and the show as attendees laughed out loud at their brutal honesty and hilarious one-liners. One thing is very clear – the five ladies of The Real have a natural chemistry while remaining diverse in experience and opinion. Braxton, Mowry-Housley, Love, Mai and Bailon admit they’re all a “work in progress,” and bring their personal perspectives to the table, in essence, helping to change the face of daytime television.

“We’re all independently successful women and as much as we celebrate that we are diverse, we’re actually more of a personality show. Whether you’re White, Black, Latina, Asian, you would want to watch this show based on personality alone. I want to get past people looking at color and look at people and their souls,” said host Mowry-Housley.

Later on, when Love asked how Time Warner helps to ensure diversity, Garcia Quiroz explained the company's three-pronged strategy to promote diversity in the workforce, workplace and marketplace, noting that it's important to have diversity both in front and behind the screen.

The Real debuts Monday, September 15, at 11 a.m. ET on Fox with a rebroadcast at 6 p.m. on BET.
