Heading South (by Southwest)

12 Mar 2015 - By TW Staff

Our colleagues at HBO, Turner and Warner Bros. are heading to the annual SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, for a slew of panels, screenings and parties over the next several days. And if you're planning to attend, there are a bunch of not-to-be-missed events you should add to your calendar… like, right now.

First up: join Turner Sports March 15 to celebrate the start of the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship at NCAA March Madness Bracket Lounge at Champions Sports Bar.

Experience a ginormous bracket (remember last year?), "Madness Face" photo booth and more. In a first for both, Facebook and Turner Sports are partnering to live stream the NCAA March Madness Bracket Lounge, which will be streamed on the NCAA March Madness Facebook page and include some of the "Selection Sunday" celebration at SXSW. Turner Sports host Matt Winer, analyst Rick Fox, and Damaris Lewis will also gather bracket reaction from fans on-site and through the Facebook page.

Then on March 16, HBO has you covered. Learn how HBO and the network's cohorts are bringing Westeros to the next level during Game of Thrones: Creating Immersive Entertainment.

And join Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Matt Walsh and Sam Richardson for The VEEP Speaks panel.

And Alec Berg, Executive Producer on Silicon Valley, is participating in Meet the Creative Game Changers. This panel looks at how the changing viewing habits of audiences create both challenges and opportunities for artists and filmmakers.

Also on March 16, Peter Girardi from Warner Bros. Animation is participating in Breaking the Fourth Wall in the Digital Age. If you're curious about the future of entertainment and technology's role in bringing the audience further into the experience, this one's for you.

Fans can also catch special screenings of iZombie, the new series from the creator of Veronica Mars, and Get Hard, Warner Bros.' new comedy starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, on March 16.

On the final day of the SXSW Interactive Festival, join the funnymen from Undateable before they hit the road for a candid (and surely hilarious) conversation about their stand-up careers and filming in front of a live studio audience.

Of course, there's much more happening at SXSW. So much more that it's actually impossible to list it all, so head over to sxsw.com for the full schedule of events.
