The sixth annual TCM Classic Film Festival opened March 26 with a star-studded gala and screening of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. Legendary stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer joined TCM host Ben Mankiewicz at the TCL Chinese Theater IMAX to introduce the beautifully restored film to a packed house.

This year, the festival's central theme was "History According to Hollywood," and the four-day festival explored how cinema shaped how we viewed, and remember, moments throughout history.
