Fresh off the world premiere of Beyoncé’s “Lemonade”, HBO dives back into the music world to debut the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This year’s 31th anniversary ceremony featured star studded special guests Kendrick Lamar, who inducted N.W.A, Kid Rock, The Black Keys, and many more. This year’s performances also included a Tribute to David Bowie and Glenn Frey, as well as a special celebration of the late Prince with exclusive 2004 footage of his induction.
The performer inductees who were honored during the rockin’ night included Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, N.W.A, and Steve Miller. In order to be considered for a Rock and Roll Hall of fame nomination, the artist had to release their first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. This year’s ceremony also honored the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement to inductee Bert Berns.
