152 Emmy Nods - Led by HBO

The Television Academy today announced the nominations for its 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and HBO led all other networks for the 16th consecutive year with an impressive total of 98. But that wasn't the only good news for Time Warner, as divisions Turner and Warner Bros. both gained on last year's totals: Warner Bros. snagged 32 nominations, while Turner earned 22 (up from 28 and 13 last year, respectively).

That made for a total across Time Warner of 152 Emmy nominations*, and you can click here to view the full list of nominees. Here are some highlights:


  • Game of Thrones claimed the most nominations for the second consecutive year with 23, following its first win last year for Outstanding Drama Series.

  • Defending Outstanding Comedy Series champion Veep secured 17 nominations.

  • HBO Films' All the Way, directed by Jay Roach, scored 8 nominations.

  • Beyonce's epic video album Lemonade earned 4 nominations.

Warner Bros.

  •  Mega-hit Little Big Shots host Steve Harvey earned a nomination for Outstanding Host For a Reality Or Reality-Competition Program.

  • The Big Bang Theory, the #1 comedy on television, received seven nominations.

  • Emmy favorite Allison Janney was nominated again for Mom, giving her the opportunity to tie an all-time record for Emmy wins for an actor. 


  • In its breakout first season, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee received a nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

  • Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown plated 5 nominations, including Outstanding Informational Series or Special.

  • Cartoon Network and Adult Swim earned 4 nominations for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program.
