40 Emmys Recognize Excellence at HBO, Turner and Warner Bros.
At the 68th Annual Emmy Awards, HBO again took home more awards (22) than any other network for the 15th consecutive year. Reigning Outstanding Drama and Comedy Series Game of Thrones and Veep each repeated in their respective categories. With three wins during Sunday's ceremony, Thrones is now the winningest primetime series in the history of television with 38 Emmys in total.
What's more, HBO added a new crown when Last Week Tonight with John Oliver took home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series for the first time.
Time Warner divisions Turner and Warner Bros. also added to the haul. Following its seven wins at the previous week's Creative Arts Emmys, WBTV's The Voice took the prize for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. Turner took home 10 trophies of its own the previous week across their iconic brands Adult Swim, Cartoon Network and CNN.
