TABI channel—the travel and lifestyle brand operated in Japan by Turner Asia Pacific—has won the prestigious Grand Award at the 4K Tokushima Movie Festival for its original production Biei Hokkaido: Seasons in Color.

The two-part documentary series was filmed on location in Biei Kamikawa-gun, Hokkaido, a quiet village known for its lavender fields and regarded as the "most beautiful in Japan." Hajime Yamazaki, a video-artist and resident of Biei, captured the area’s colorful landscapes and inhabitants using ultra-high definition 4k cameras. It was first broadcast on TABI Channel in May 2016.

Phil Nelson, managing director of Turner in North Asia, said: “We are extremely pleased that TABI won this award, especially considering the field of high-production series from Japan’s top broadcasters. Turner produces more original content than any other international broadcaster in Japan and it’s fantastic to be recognized for all our terrific work.”
