Boomerang Delivers Awesome Toons Direct to Consumers

Turner and Warner Bros. have announced Boomerang, a new domestic premium streaming service featuring the world’s greatest collection of animation in one exclusive destination. The service will launch this spring and will be the first time the two companies have offered the massive Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes and MGM animation library of over 5,000 titles on a streaming platform. 

“Boomerang is a beloved brand that has always had multi-generational appeal and some of the greatest animated shows ever created,” said Christina Miller, president, Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Adult Swim. “Our ongoing partnership with Warner Bros. around this new premium service continues our strategy of making sure our fans are engaged with fresh and fun content whenever and wherever they want it.”

In addition to providing access to timeless franchises like Tom & Jerry, Boomerang will be the exclusive home to several new, original series, including Warner Bros. Animation’s Dorothy and the Wizard Oz, an uplifting comedic fantasy series; and Wacky Races, a full-engine overhaul of the Hanna-Barbera classic. Boomerang will also be the only place to catch new episodes of Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry.

The service will be ad-free and launch domestically on Web, iOS and Android devices this spring. It will expand to several more platforms after launch, including Amazon, Roku and Apple TV.  Boomerang follows other direct-to-consumer offerings from Time Warner businesses—including FilmStruck and HBO NOW—at the forefront of offering consumers new ways to enjoy the content they love.
