HBO's Got Vision (Awards)

The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) just announced its 2018 Vision Awards, and HBO was the event's big winner. Founded in 1994 by the NAMIC-Southern California Chapter, the NAMIC Vision Awards salute original programming for linear and digital platforms that is reflective of the depth and breadth of the lives, spirit and contributions of people of color.

HBO took home six awards in as many categories:

Best Performance – Drama

Oprah Winfrey, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks




Baltimore Rising


VICE News Tonight: Trump Chicago Gangs

Original Movie or Special

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

Variety/Talk Show

George Lopez: The Wall, Live from Washington, D.C.
