From cavemen to inter-dimensional travel, Adult Swim covers it all at Upfront
WarnerMedia Upfront unveiled some seriously awesome news from the folks at Adult Swim, as “Rick and Morty” broke the news of their upcoming season, and a new show was announced from Cartoon Network legend Genndy Tartakovsky. Yes, that Genndy Tartakovsky.
Rick and Morty themselves took the Upfront stage at Madison Square Garden to give the big news (in heavily edited language, I mean it is Rick and Morty after all) that their series will be returning for a fourth season with new episodes premiering in November.
Last May, Adult Swim announced it had given “Rick and Morty” an amazing 70-episode order as part of a new long-term deal the network had signed with series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. Fans of the award-winning show should now be satisfied for a very long time.
In addition, Adult Swim has ordered a new animated series from Genndy Tartakovsky, “Samurai Jack” and “Dexter’s Laboratory” Emmy-winning creator, titled “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal.” The half-hour show will debut this fall, and centers around a unique partnership between a caveman at the dawn of evolution, and a dinosaur on the brink of extinction. This unlikely friendship is bonded by tragedy and becomes the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world. This show is fantastic news for all Tartakovsky fans, Adult Swim fans and anyone who loves a good prehistoric battle. Check out the trailer below:
Be sure you’re watching Adult Swim this fall for new “Rick and Morty” episodes, as well as the premiere of “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal.” Plus, read about these announcements and much more from Upfront here.
