WarnerMedia ushers in a new day at Upfront
To say it was an exciting day for WarnerMedia is putting it mildly. The #WarnerMediaUpfront, held at the historic Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, showcased a dizzying array of new and impressive capabilities for consumers and advertisers alike. And with the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Conan O’Brien, Jennifer Connelly and Tracy Morgan to add the perfect amount of pizzazz, it was a memorable day for everyone.
Before the show began, we took you behind the scenes with exclusive blue carpet interviews from Turner Classic Movies Host Alicia Malone, featuring chats with stars from your favorite networks and brands. Here’s a glimpse at some pre-show highlights:
Following the blue carpet, it was time for the main event. WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey, opened the presentation with a video highlighting the enormous library of brands in our portfolio, and spoke about the need to connect with consumers and how technology is changing the advertising experience.
Kevin Reilly, President – TBS/TNT and chief creative officer – WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer, took the stage, not only sharing WarnerMedia’s commitment to world-class storytelling, but to also mention the upcoming direct-to-consumer product and the premium content it will deliver.
Each brand shared sizzles highlighting new shows, returning favorites and other exciting news. From new offerings like Ann Curry’s “Chasing the Cure” and “All Elite Wrestling” on TNT to dramas coming to TBS in the coming year to the highly anticipated return of Adult Swim’s monster-hit “Rick and Morty” in November– it was clear that the new WarnerMedia and its unified portfolio were a force.
By the end of the presentation, #WarnerMediaUpfront was trending on Twitter with 21,852 overall mentions on social reaching 86 million. By 3 p.m., #WarnerMediaUpfront was mentioned 105,131 times with a reach of over 248.4 million.
