My God, Zilla! Titans return in latest ‘Godzilla’ film
The start of summer signals the beginning of the summertime blockbusters and there’s no bigger one this year than “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”
Directed by Michael Dougherty, the film brings back Sally Hawkins and Ken Watanabe, who starred in the 2014 film. Newcomers to the series include Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, making her film debut.
First introduced to U.S. audiences in 1954, Godzilla has captivated audiences worldwide. In this latest feature, humanity’s fate hangs in the balance after myth-like super creatures are brought to life. The crypto-zoological agency Monarch and its members face off against several god-like monsters, including Godzilla, who goes head to head with Mothra, Rodan and his ultimate nemesis, King Ghidorah, the three-headed beast.
They’re all vying for supremacy, but which monster will come out on top? Find out when “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” hits theaters on May 31.
