Cartoon Network celebrates success of 'Toon Cup' 2019
This year’s football frenzy has taken over Cartoon Network’s “Toon Cup” app, with a new squad of characters to celebrate the FIFA Women’s World Cup and has had immense success from the starting whistle.
The latest update to Cartoon Network’s hugely popular, multi-character football game available across LATAM, APAC and EMEA has welcomed Kelsey from Craig of the Creek, Raven from “Teen Titans Go!” and Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup from “The Powerpuff Girls.” “Adventure Time” stars Marceline and Princess Bubblegum and Anais from “The Amazing World of Gumball’” also take to the pitch again this year to show off their fancy footwork. There’s also a new referee on the field, as Gumball’s mom, Nicole, makes her first ever app appearance.
In line with the Women's World Cup, “Toon Cup” is hosting its very own Cartoon Network Tournament (June 7 – July 31) – and, in just its first few weeks, the app has already scored great success, with more than 37.3 million completed matches and close to four million new downloads; bringing the lifetime downloads to date to 24.8 million.
What’s more, this latest update brings pitch-side and centre circle advertising and sponsorship opportunities for the first time. Native and video ad placements have already resulted in over 66.7 million impressions.
“Toon Cup” is now number one in the ‘Sports Games’ and ‘Family Apps’ categories in countries across the world, with a 4.13-star rating on Google Play.
It’s not too late to join the football mania and take to the pitch with "Toon Cup” this summer!
