“gen:LOCK” makes its exclusive broadcast premiere

Toonami, Adult Swim’s legendary Saturday night anime block, just got even stronger with the addition of “gen:LOCK,” which premieres on Saturday, August 3. The new show is a mecha-anime style series set 50 years in the future, where an oppressive authoritarian force threatens to conquer the world. A daring team is recruited to pilot a new form of weaponized neuroscience that powers devastating mecha, but they must be willing to sacrifice everything to save the world. The show packs a powerful cast, including Michael B. Jordan (“Creed,” “Black Panther”), Dakota Fanning (“The Alienist,” the “Twilight” saga), Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”), Kōichi Yamadera (“Ghost in the Shell”), Golshifteh Farahani (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”), Asia Kate Dillon (“Billions”), and David Tennant (“Jessica Jones”). “gen:LOCK” is a half-hour series from Rooster Teeth, co-produced with Jordan’s Outlier Society.

“Squidbillies” is back, y’all

What better way to heal the growing divide in this great nation than with some inbred mountain hijinks? America’s fourth favorite family is back for its 12th season as “Squidbillies” returns to Adult Swim on Sunday, August 11 at 12 a.m. ET/PT.

Not only will you get another season of America’s favorite family of violent, rural cephalopods addicted to ignorance and raising hell in the red clay of Dougal County, Ga., but the new season features all-new covers of the theme song from artists such as Shooter Jennings, Shannon Shaw & Dan Auerbach, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and more.

Yee haw indeed.

“Mr. Pickles” returns, cuter than ever

It’s time for some good old classic American adventure, as Old Town’s cutest mutt returns later this year for more tail wagging, flesh ripping and head decapitating. “Mr. Pickles” takes us into the lives of the Goodman family and their innocent six-year-old son Tommy, whose best friend is the family’s lovable border collie, Mr. Pickles, who happens to be possessed by the devil. No big deal. The fourth season of “Mr. Pickles” premieres in December.

“Ballmastrz: 9009” is ready to kick some ass

It’s the distant future. War has been replaced with The Game, and let’s just say you better be good. Welcome to the world of “Ballmastrz 9009,” which will be returning for its second season on Adult Swim. The show takes place in the year 9009 (duh) and follows washed up superstar and notorious party gal Gaz Digzy, who after a spiral of destructive antics is demoted to the worst team in The Game: The Leptons. Her only way back to the top is to somehow lead these pathetic misfits to victory. Will she do it? Find out in season two.

“Tigtone” returns for a noble(ish) quest

Tigtone” has created quite a cult following, and the hit show will return for a second, glorious season. The quests will be epic… and pretty gross. This animated adventure series follows a quest-addicted hero named Tigtone, who slashes his way through a satirical fantasy universe with melodramatic ferocity and a complete disregard for the collateral damage he inflicts along the way. A noble quest indeed.

Now, thanks to the internet, you can catch up on previous seasons of all these renewed series on
