HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ to feature NFL’s Oakland Raiders in upcoming season

Are you ready for some football?! We know you’re counting down the days until the start of a new NFL season. FYI, there are less than forty days until football begins again. So, you know what that means? “Hard Knocks” is back.

The HBO reality show, the most-acclaimed sports reality franchise on TV, having won 18 Sports Emmy Awards, is returning for its 14th season. This year, the show will spotlight the Oakland Raiders during their last season in California. Next year, the Raiders will call Las Vegas, Nevada home.

The show, in conjunction with NFL films, features one NFL team each year throughout training camp and the preseason. This season, fans can keep up with Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, wide receiver Antonio Brown, NCAA national champion Hunter Renfrow and more leading up to game day. In 2018, “Hard Knocks” featured the Cleveland Browns, who had the number one overall draft pick, Baker Mayfield.

Unfortunately, the show may have a bit of an unlucky streak. Throughout the last 13 seasons of “Hard Knocks,” the selected team has only made it to the playoffs five times. The Texans were the last to break the trend in 2015.

The Raiders have something to prove to a lot of people this year after finishing just 4-12 last season.

“Hard Knocks” will premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 6 on HBO at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can also stream the series on HBO Go and HBO Now. Will the Raiders break the alleged curse? Tune in to watch the games begin!

Now, you’re ready for some football!
