WarnerMedia celebrates #SpiritDay to speak out against LGBTQ+ bullying
On Thursday, WarnerMedia participated in a company-wide, multi-city celebration of #SpiritDay – a day to stand with LGBTQ+ youth and speak out against LGBTQ+ bullying. In support of Spirit Day, employees across the country raised their purple pom-poms to show their solidarity for the cause.
Spirit Day is observed annually during National Bullying Prevention Month and is spearheaded by GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). The initiative was started in 2010 by a high school student who wanted to show support for LGBTQ+ youth and take a stand against bullying, and the color purple was chosen because it symbolizes spirit on the rainbow flag.
