Adult Swim rocks LA at second annual festival
Since its 2001 launch, Adult Swim, has evolved beyond its linear presence into a compelling lifestyle brand with its own unique musical and cultural identity.
Last year, the Cartoon Network sibling expanded their unprecedented portfolio with the Adult Swim Festival. With headliners like Run the Jewels, hilarious comedians such Hannibal Buress, and immersive experiences like the mechanical bull hotdog, the inaugural Adult Swim Festival was unlike anything Los Angeles had ever seen. The ambitious project paid off, becoming so popular and well-received the network decided to do it again!
This year, the Adult Swim Festival was held November 15-16 at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The two action-packed days included 59 performances and screenings from incredible artists such as 2 Chainz, The Eric Andre Show Live!, Dethklok, Captain Murphy, Jamie XX, Vince Staples and more.
For the first time, fans could RSVP for screenings, music and comedy acts through the Adult Swim Festival app so they could create a personal festival schedule and scope out the daily events from their phones.
Thanks to the larger venue space, Adult Swim was also able to unveil brand-new activations including the Morty Slide, Cat Joust and Rick and Morty: Show Us What You Got! Volumetric Reality.
Powered by AT&T 5G and brought to life with the help of the WarnerMedia Innovation Lab, the Rick and Morty: Show Us What You Got! Volumetric Reality experience gave guests the opportunity to step into a three-dimensional alternate Rickality.
After the Rickflector’s successful debut at San Diego Comic Con 2019, the experience transported itself over to the festival, allowing fans to step directly into the animated world of Rick Sanchez himself.
The fun didn’t stop there. Adult Swim Festival goers also were also able to attend talent meet and greets and experience fan favorite activations including the hot-dog ride, Meatwad dome, and had access to more than 25 pieces of exclusive Adult Swim festival merchandise.
