Animated Superman and Batman to air on television in China

Three regional Chinese television networks-Shanghai Television, Sichuan Television and Guang Dong Television-have concluded a licensing deal to broadcast the Warner Bros. Television Animation series "Superman" and "Batman: The Animated Series" under the "House of Toons" programming banner, it was announced today at the Sichuan Television Festival by Jeffrey Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television.

"This is another indication of Warner Bros.' on-going commitment to bring high-quality television to viewers in China," said Schlesinger. "This is especially significant because in involves classic characters with universal appeal that are enjoyed by the whole family."Each episode of "House of Toons" will consist of a specially created "House of Toons" animated opening, segments from "Looney Tunes," and an episode of either "Batman: The Animated Series" or "Superman." The plan is to broadcast the one-hour "House of Toons" Fridays and Saturdays at 5:00 p.m.
