The Friday, July 7, telecast of the Cartoon Network original series Dexter's Laboratory ranked as the network's highest rated original telecast ever among households (3.1 - among basic cable's top 10 for the week), kids 2-11 (7.8 - number one for the week) and kids 6-11 (8.4 - number one for the week). The program also set a network household delivery record with nearly 2 million homes.
Additionally, Cartoon Network's summer showcase for original cartoon shorts, CARTOON CARTOON FRIDAYS, earned a 2.7 household rating, making it the second highest-rated original telecast in network history. The program also posted a 6.9 rating with both kids 2-11 and kids 6-11, making it the second highest-rated Cartoon Network original telecast ever among both demos.
