SPORTS ILLUSTRATED FOR WOMEN Increases Circulation Rate Base and Frequency

New York, N.Y. — Sports Illustrated for Women will raise its circulation rate base from 300,000 to 400,000, effective with the January/February issue. The magazine will also publish eight issues in 2001, three more than in 2000. The announcement was made today by Publisher Paula Romano.

"We are witnessing a tremendous surge in participation, attendance and media coverage of women's sports," said Romano. "SI For Women is experiencing a similar growth rate and an overwhelmingly positive response from readers and advertisers, as it is the only magazine that covers the breadth of women's sports, and is relevant to the multi-faceted lives of sports active women. We are excited to offer the single most targeted media vehicle to reach these passionate female participants."

Sports Illustrated for Women launched in March of 2000. Aimed at women ages 18-34 who have a passion for sports as participants and fans—and who strive to lead active and healthy lifestyles—SI FOR WOMEN is published by Time Inc., the world's leading magazine publishing company and a subsidiary of Time Warner.
