Founded in 2001 by British film director Sir Alan Parker, First Light is the UK's leading initiative enabling young people to realise their potential via creative digital film and media projects. In her new role, Dailey will help guide this initiative which distributes £1.1m of UK Lottery funding per year and has enabled over 30,000 budding young filmmakers to write, act, shoot, light, direct and produce over 1,000 films and media projects.
At Time Warner Dailey handles policy issues in Europe across the company's four divisions - HBO, Turner/CNN, Warner Bros. and Time Inc./IPC Media - working to represent their interests with policymakers and other influential leaders.
Before moving to parent company Time Warner, Dailey headed Turner's International Public Policy operation with responsibility for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Dailey originally joined the Time Warner family in 1990 with CNN in London where as European Counsel she helped drive the launch of CNN International and subsequently Turner's entertainment channels, Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies.
Dailey is a life-time member of BAFTA, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the British Screen Advisory Council, Women in Film and Television and the Council of the Serpentine Gallery. She has a JD degree Magna Cum Laude from Boston College Law School and a BA degree with Honours in Art History from UCLA and the Advanced Programme in French Language and Civilisation at the University of Paris (Sorbonne).
