Greg T. Gordon joins to lead all-new brand studio dedicated to
Adult Swim, TBS, TNT & truTV
Turner Ignite, the content and data solutions division of Turner Ad Sales, today launched a new brand studio dedicated to the company’s entertainment networks. First teased at the 2018 Upfront, Turner Ignite Studios brings together entertainment creators to align with advertising partners in developing original content that leverages the voice of its beloved brands and coveted audience connection across Adult Swim, TBS, TNT and truTV.
"As fans engage with our entertainment brands everywhere, marketers are increasingly looking for high-quality creative that can travel, and content that they have a voice in creating,” said Jennifer Cohen, senior vice president of content partnerships for Turner Ignite, who will oversee the new studio. “We’ve made this investment because we know premium branded content drives greater client results than traditional commercials. And there is no stronger opportunity for brands to connect than by tapping into content that resonates with passionate fans."
Turner Ignite Studios is run by vice president and creative director, Greg T. Gordon, who joined the company to take on this new role in October. A comedy enthusiast and first-mover in the digital creator community, Gordon was most recently the head of video operations at Vox Media, where he stood up the company’s entertainment studio. He was also a key figure in launching and scaling Vox Media’s brand studio, Vox Creative.
Reporting to Cohen in New York, Gordon will lead a best-in-class team of versatile entertainment creators focused on producing original intellectual property and white label work for clients with a specialty in video. Spanning comedy and drama, scripted and unscripted, live action and animation, branded content will be built social-first, while taking advantage of Turner’s multiplatform footprint and fan experiences that transcend traditional television models. A client-first creative business, the studio will work closely with the company’s branded content sellers, while remaining deeply embedded within the networks to ensure client creative complements the ethos of those brands.
Turner Ignite Studios builds on the success of the company’s branded content arms—Courageous Studios for CNN and Turner Ignite Sports—and reinforces Turner’s commitment to delivering brands a closer connection to its global portfolio through breakthrough storytelling.
