Anchored and executive produced by Ann Curry, Chasing the Cure is a groundbreaking initiative that brings together a weekly LIVE 90-minute television broadcast with a 24/7 global digital platform in an effort to help people who are suffering from undiagnosed, misdiagnosed or uncured medical mysteries. A panel of top doctors will work alongside the Chasing the Cure audience to help crack patients’ cases, many of which have resulted in prolonged agony.
Launching August 8th at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT LIVE via simulcast on TNT and TBS, this multi-platform experience will extend across digital, linear and social to fully harness the power of crowdsourcing through numerous calls to action. It will be comprised of social media pages, a Facebook group, a dedicated website (ChasingTheCureLive.com) that’s a moderated community where users can submit their cases, and the weekly linear LIVE telecast.
Every week on the LIVE broadcast, patients battling puzzling ailments meet with a panel of top doctors who work to help solve their cases ranging from the surprising and odd, to the most uplifting and joyful, to cases that are a race against the clock under heartbreaking life or death circumstances. Simultaneously, viewers will be able to interact with the show across social media pages, a Facebook group, and ChasingTheCureLive.com. The show’s dedicated website will allow visitors to submit their own cases and engage with case files of upcoming patients featured on the broadcast. The site will also contain extensive video and other editorial content and allow viewers at home to interact with one another about medical issues.
